Thanksgiving Break 11/23/10-11/28/10

So, it's Wednesday night and we are all sitting in my bedroom on my bed. We being my brother, sister, Derek, and me. It's pretty cool. Derek was trying to upload his whole itunes library onto my flash drive so I could upload it all on my computer but something with my flash drive got silly and we had to restore it. Thank goodness all my essay drafts and power points are still saved.

Tomorrow we're going to Shawnee to spend Thanksgiving with my grandparents. Derek is coming with us (my family) and I think it's gonna be pretty awesome having him there with us. Also, today I went to Derek's house and helped him and his mom put up Christmas lights. There were these people that live in the cul de sac  (google says that's 3 separate words) Anyway, they lived in the house right in this cul de sac and all of the sudden, we hear like...yelling and carrying on and pretty soon 2 cops show up and there was a woman and a man outside screaming at each other. Basically, the cops talked to them and the woman left but then she came right back and loaded up some kids and drove off with them and the guy was still yelling. It was so weird. haha.

Oh well. Also, Derek got his hair cut today. It's short now and all the red hair dye that he used to dye his hair for Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is gone from his hair so it's just dark and short now. I think it looks good.

I want to play a game...

So. Yesterday, Derek came to visit me. We had our whole day planned out. He would get to my house in yesterday morning, we would hang out for a bit, go see Saw 7, then go get some dinner, then go to the Nightmare attraction at GUTS church. So that's what we did. It was a blast. Saw made me want to barf but that's the fun of it. I couldn't imagine being in one of those traps in real life. I'd be too scared. Anyway, the Nightmare was fun too. We had to wait in this huge line for like...2 hours just to get in but while we were waiting, there were competitions and stuff. One of the competitions was to see who could sing the whole Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song. If they sung it right, they and their friends could move to the front of the line but like, no one could get the whole song. Then, finally, this girl got up and sang the whole thing. It was cool. Then there was a dancing competition....I'm not sure who won that because we went in before they announced the winner. Oh well.

I was so curious as to how they were able to set up the Nightmare. It wasn't as scary as I imagined it'd be but it was cool. I wish I could go in while the lights were on so I could see how they set it all up. I was very impressed but thought it was overly priced for the point of it. Oh well.

Umm, yeah. We went to quiznos because, with my paycheck from work, there were coupons for a free foot long if you bought one at regular price.  So we order our food and get to the part of the desk where you pay and they tell us that we can't use the coupon on what we ordered because it was already cheap...lame.

So we were ticked about that and the sandwiches weren't even that good. I would much rather have had subway had I known that quiznos was horrible. Oh well. It was still fun to just be with Derek and talk with him.

So yeah, that was basically my day yesterday. I'm sitting on my couch right now waiting for Derek to call. He's going home today and he's gonna come see me before he leaves. I always hate seeing him drive away but I try to think of the next time I will get to see him and that helps a little. Tomorrow is the 1st of November and I will spend the weekend of the 19th, 20th, and 21st with him and then he'll be staying with his mom over Thanksgiving break. Time, please go by quickly.

I made a D on my government exam. Better than the F I made on the first one. Grade is rising though...which is good.

If it's not Monday and it's not Wedneday then....

It must be Tuesday.

Last Wednesday, Derek came home for Fall Break. He was here from Wednesday to Sunday. I really loved having him here with me. We had a lot of fun. We went to a football game, ate, got coffee at Shades Of Brown, saw The Social Network, went shopping, watched The Italian Job and The Mummy, went to my college, and ate. :) He's coming back on Saturday so we can go to the Nightmare attraction at GUTS church and then go see Saw 7. I am so excited!

I have a political science exam coming up on Friday and I guess I should be studying but it's all pretty basic material so I am having trouble figuring out what I don't know. ha. Whatever....

Anyway, I sent Derek a package today. He should get it on Thursday...err, at least...that's what the post office lady said. She was like "I can guarantee it's arrival on Wednesday but you'd have to pay 31 bucks" and I was like, "No, ma'am!" haha. Stupid fast expensive service.

On a better note, I can't wait until he opens the box! I hope he likes what's inside!!! ;)

I need to go by Bed Bath and Beyond tomorrow after class to see when I work next. I had last week off (which was super nice) but it makes me not want to go back. It's depressing to think that my imminent future is work...hhhh

Oh well.

I'm am in the process of trying to move all my stuff from my room to my sister's room. My aunt Kelsie will be transferring to OSU Tulsa in January and she will be living with my in my house and Catie and I have to switch rooms so Kelsie and I can share a room. My dad's been really on me to get my stuff moved but he told me to move once he got boxes for me to pack my stuff in. Has he gotten me boxes? No...

So I'm not moved. I haven't even STARTED moving. Ha. Whatever. I guess I could move all my clothes but that seems like a waste because to get dressed....I'd have to go to my sister's room (I have to walk through my brother's room to get to her room), in a towel, to get my clothes...then, walk back through my brother's room and back to my room, or the bathroom, to get dressed. So dumb. I could just stay in my room and get dressed.

Anyway, I'm done writing now. I should study. Blech.

Moving Day?

So, Kelsie ( my aunt) is moving in to my house in January because she will be going to OSU Tulsa. She and I will need to share a room and the room I have right now is too small for the both of us and all our stuff so we are switching rooms with Catie. Well, some things need to be done to my room before we switch. My dad needs to put insolation (sp?) in the walls, scrape off the popcorn texture off the ceiling, re-paint the walls, and rip up the carpet and polish the hardwood flood underneath. So yeah, we get to move all my crap from my room to Catie's today. Yuck.

Anyway, this month has been pretty much the best month of my life. Kelsie came to stay with me the second week of this month and we saw ApologetiX. Then, the third weekend...I went and spent the weekend at my grandma's house and got to spend time with Derek! It was so fun. We rented movies and went shopping, and ate, and got coffee, and went to a football game. It was a pretty awesome time. Derek is coming up tomorrow to spend fall break in Tulsa and I am SO excited for that too! 

Having him in Tulsa again will bring back sweet memories. :) Then, the last week of October he's taking me to Nightmare at GUTS church which will be fun. He'll be staying that weekend too! Ahh, Life is good as of now.  :) 

It rained today. I love the rain. I was asleep and I heard it and felt the cool breeze through my window and it just made me so happy! I've been in a weird mood since yesterday like...I have been listening to classical piano music and just been feeling romantic. haha, it's weird. Oh well ;) 

It's about lunch time so I'm gonna head in to the kitchen and see what I can find for lunch. 

Wood and my finger and earthquake. What the crap...

Yesterday was a pretty productive day. I woke up at 8 and just started doing stuff. It was weird. I brushed Zeke. He sheds so bad like...it's not even funny. When I was done brushing him, there was a pile of hair on the floor that was as big as a rabbit. No joke. Then, I gave Maddie a bath. (p.s. Zeke and Maddie are my dogs) After I bathed her, I brushed her and blow dried her hair so she looks all groomed and what not.

After that, I cleaned my room (which was a mess) and that took forever but I got it done. Then I did my homework which included 70 something math problems, 3 political science quizzes (because I was behind) and some strategies homework. Ugh. Anyway, I got all that done and then I took a shower. I spent forever in the shower cause I sat down and fell asleep. Yes, I fall asleep in the shower. It's fun.

After my shower, I ate and then I don't remember what I did after that. I waited for Derek to get off work so he could call me......

He did call me after work but he couldn't talk long cause he had to go somewhere but he talked to me when he got back then after open dorm. :) I appreciated that!

Anyway, Today has been a different story. I got up and went to class. I was supposed to have my math mid-term today but my professor rescheduled it for Friday but that didn't work for me so he let me take it today anyway. It was pretty easy. We only had 30 minutes in the class though because he had to do something. So yeah, I was pretty rushed but I feel like I did good on it.

After math, I went to Political Science. Actually, I was early so I met up with Mark and this other dude in this study area and they were talking about the earthquake. WHAT?!?!?! So I didn't even feel any earthquake so I was like "They've gotta be talking about like, California or something...." Oh no, they were talking about Oklahoma. I didn't feel it though. Oh well. My loss I guess.....

Political Science was the same as always....a lecture and trying to take notes. Woo hoo right?

Umm, then I had English which was boring. We did some grammar crap and then we left. Psh. Then I turned in my homework for Friday for my strategies class since I won't be there this Friday. Then, I went home. I got home and wanted to eat my favorite lunch (Ham sandwich with chips and 2 chocolate chip cookies and water) but we didn't have any ham so I got mad. So I just ate chips and cookies. haha. Take that stupid ham.

Then, I decide I'm gonna start packing for Friday. I get out our huge luggage bag thing to find the smaller bag and I'm feeling around for the zipper and get a splinter. Great. So I start freaking out because it hurts and there is wood in my finger. I run to the bathroom and bust out a needle and some tweezers. Well, I dig and dig and dig and the stupid thing won't come out and now I've just made it hurt worse. So I dip my finger in peroxide and slap a bandaid on it and try to deal with it. Well, it was still hurting so I scream to my mom, "MOMMA, COME GET THIS PIECE OF CRAP WOOD OUT OF MY FINGER" and she, like the wonderful mother she is, says "Bring me a needle and the tweezers" so I'm like....ugh, this is gonna hurt.

Anyway, to make a long story short. My mom got the splinter out. Thanks mom! <3

I packed as much as I could for Friday and need to do at least some of my homework that's due on Monday so I won't have to worry about it over the weekend.

I have good reason--

To be excited for Friday!

Friday is gonna freakin rock! I am driving to Bethany, Oklahoma to visit my wonderful boyfriend. I'll be staying the whole weekend! YES! We're going to spend Friday down there doing all sorts of things. (He made a list and I don't know what's on it) :) Then, we're gonna go to Shawnee and hang out there! I'm staying with my grandparents so he will get to meet them. There will be food, movies, shopping, hot tubbing (maybe), exploring, and cuddling. So good!

The days leading up to Friday make me so anxious. Today was a good day....I guess it went by fast. Of course, I slept through most of it. I have some homework to do and I'm trying to sort out a time to take my math mid-term before Friday. (When it's scheduled) So yeah...should be easy though. 35 questions. Basic math. For the win. ;)

Hmm, what else? I have to work on Thursday. That's gonna be sooooo tough cause I close and it's just like spending the rest of the time before I leave on Friday at work. Eww. Oh well, it's money.

Right now, I'm writing this blog...waiting to talk to Derek. Can't wait to see him on google chat.

ApologetiX-Tulsa, Oklahoma

Tonight was the ApologetiX concert at...well, I don't know the name of the church but it was on Yale. Anyway, it was a good concert. Kelsie, Alex, Catie, and me rocked out hard and had a blast! We met some people we had seen at previous concerts but had never talked to so that was cool.
Tom Milnes talked to us about our music and Jimmy Tanner asked about our song progress and stuff and we got a picture with Jimmy. Good night. :)

Kelsie, Me, Alex, and Catie are sitting in my room right now. I just downloaded Melodyne Editor onto Kelsie's mac so she can record her parts of our songs and send them to me to work on my parts. Hopefully, we can work more efficiently that way.

I'm really tired. I have a ton of math homework that's due on Monday. Frick. I have to get it all done tomorrow after Kelsie goes home.....ugh. Oh well. Such is life.

I got Derek's letter in the mail today.

I have a feeling I won't be awake very long tonight. I'm pooped.

10 years

It feels like this long since I've written a blog. So here I go...

We'll start from last Friday.
Not much to report except for some stupid things like...this dude, Keith, from work is trying to set me up with his roommate...I blew him off and didn't talk to him. To me, that's disrespectful when he clearly knows I'm dating Derek. Psh...turd. Whatever.
My manager was arrested sometime last week. I can't say much but....he got arrested and our back up manager quit. Great.
Anyway, aside from that excitement. I am driving to OKC to see Derek not this Friday but next Friday (Oct. 15th) I can't wait. I'll be down there for the whole weekend, staying with my grandparents in Shawnee. This vacation is much needed.
It's midterm week. I've been busting my crack trying to get all my stuff together. I was really glad to get one of my rough drafts on an essay in English back today. My professor made a lot of good comments and she really liked my essay. That made me happy.
I saw a girl that works at MAC makeup in Dillards...she did my make up last time I was in there and she recognized me...which was cool.
Political Science was good today. I sat with Mark and Brooks and Lauren and Mark drew all over my notes =/ Oh well...he was just making fun of my note taking skills. haha. Turd.
Anyway, they were giving Lauren a hard time cause she was late to class and they were telling her that she was lazy but she just laughed and punched them...
That's what I'd do too. haha.
Umm....There's not much else to report. I'm listening to "The Evening" by Feist right now.

Tough As Nails, Right?

It's night. Again.
I'm laying in my bed. Today has been an annoying day. First, the friend that I was supposed to hang out with cancelled on me because her gay friend cut his hand and he didn't have health insurance so he couldn't go to the hospital to get it looked at so she had to go doctor him because his boyfriend was gone. Eww. Whatever.
I got my student ID which is about the most exciting thing I've done all day.
I'm stressing out today. My retainer for my teeth doesn't fit because I haven't worn it (I blame myself) and to get a new one...it's gonna cost me 200 bucks. NOT COOL.
On top of that. I have a lot of stuff to get ready for like a midterm portfolio for English due on the 11th and a final portfolio due in Strategies in a couple weeks and a polisci quiz and I feel like I'm losing my mind. I can't remember when crap is due and what is due and yeah. That's fun.
My room is a mess and that stresses me out but I'm not focused or dedicated enough to clean it. I need more hours at work but I can't work a lot because of school and homework and stuff but I'm running out of money and it's freaking me out.
I'm going to a study group tomorrow at 1:00 with Mark Ott and some person named Dee to study Political Science. Woo..(not really)
After that, I get to come home for a bit...do homework....then go to Fusion. We don't have a drummer anymore and that stresses me out because I can't play the bass the way I want to play the bass and it's boring and stupid and I just have a really hard time keeping a good attitude.
Oh well. It is what it is I guess.
I miss my Derek.
It's hard being so far from him. =/

Thank you Monday for being the worst start to my week ever.

Today is Monday.
I had class.
I go to math....
math is alright.
Ruth wasn't there so she missed the quiz....bummer.
I get out of math early and head to PoliSci.
Get there early.
Talk to a classmate.
Find out that I failed my exam.
(woo)
Started class.
Instructor chewed our butts out.
Instructor told me to meet with him to discuss study hints and help for his exams.
(That was good)
Went to English.
Can't get in to Comp. 1 cause all the classes are full.
(I'd rather be doing nothing more than wasting my time...psh)
Get out of English.
Drive home.
Write blog.


This was my day in a nutshell. I am hungry and bored now. Oh well...maybe I'll take a nap or see what Derek is doing.

Late.

So. Today is Sunday and I go to church. We were supposed to be at church at like 8:40 and normally we're supposed to be there at 9. Basically, everyone in my family woke up late so I didn't get a shower. Hhhh, so I just put my bangs up and got dressed and left. We made it on time but it was a hectic morning.
Church was good excpet I was really tired and fell asleep for a little bit but my sister woke me up. After church, we ate at Mazzio's and normally, I like their pizza but today it like tasted really weird and it had cinnamon all on the bottom. It was gross. It made my stomach hurt really bad.
Anyway, after that....we went home. Me, Alex, Catie and Darian decided we wanted to go to the mall so we did. I went to Bakers to buy some shoes. (they're legit!) and ended up buying a purse to go with them. haha. I met this girl in there though. She was really nice. I somehow have the ability to make people tell me about themselves and they don't even know why they're telling me about themselves. haha. It's cool.
Anyway, I stayed in this store for like an hour just trying on random shoes and stuff. I finally get ready to check-out and I go up to the desk and this girl is like, "Hey, this might sound really weird but like....do you want to hang out and go cosignment store shopping with me tomorrow or Tuesady?" And I was like, "Uhh, sure" and she's like "Hey, I'm 28" and I'm like "Uhhh, I'm 17"

She was like, really shocked but told me that she just needs a girlfriend to go shopping with and she just needs someone to talk to. So, I agreed to go shopping with her. It should be fun.

Anyway, my day was so weird but it's cool. I'm gonna take a bath now then talk to my wonderful boyfriend.

I think I did pretty well on the exam. We'll see what the results

No English today so I had two hours to kill before my next class....
I hope this class goe by fast. I hope work goes by fast too.
I just want to go home and take a bath and then take a nap.
Oh well.

Bright side: walking out to my car this morning to leave
for class. Randomly lady walking down the street stops and says good morning
to me. That was nice ;)

I suppose I'm making a habbit out of going to bed at 3:00 a.m. ;) It's worth it!
Today, I woke up at 11:40 to a text from Derek. That made me happy!
I got up and ate "breakfast" which was really lunch but it was blueberry muffins so it counts as breakfast.
After I ate, I started my homework. I didn't realize how much I had put off until today.....everything is due tomorrow.
I had to write an essay and an outline, do 20 math problems, read a chapter in a book, do two journal entries in my strategies book as well as a study guide and I had to copy my notes from my Political Science class. Boy, that was fun.
I'm on skype with Derek right now. :) He's looking at free stuff online.
Dinner is calling my name. I'm not sure what is it but it's ready for me so I'm gonna eat it.

First

So, my day starts off by going to bed around 3:00 a.m. --solid.

I also have classes today. The first one starting at 9:00 a.m. and it's my math class.

In order to arrive to class on time, I must leave my house at 8:15 a.m. meaning, to get ready to leave I must wake up at 7:00 or 7:30 a.m. depending on if I need a shower or not.

Let's review.

Go to sleep at 3. Wake up at 7. Get to math class at 9. I just know you're begging to be me right now. haha.

Anyway, on the bright side. There was no classwork in math today...just a lecture, although...we do have homework. 

Second class of the day was Political Science. Probably the least boring of all my classes just because the teacher involves the students in discussion making for easy learning and the ability to retain knowledge. With all that being said, PoliSci was good.

Third class of the day was English...

Comp. 1, right? Oh no...writing 3 because of an unfortunate placement test score.

My professor told me I was at the top of the class...which was cool but she told me that this class is a waste of my time and that I should consider re-testing to place in to Comp. 1. 

I retest. Score high enough for Comp. 1. Look online to see if there might be any chance of an opening for Comp. 1.....

No. 

My professor did tell me to check the status of her class every day because students drop the class early due to "professor shopping" so I have a better chance if I check everyday. 

Now. On to other issues. TCC issues a debit card on which financial aid refunds are placed. This card can be used just like a bank's debit card except the money doesn't come out of your bank account. It's weird. I don't know. ANYWAY, I had made a "purchase" with this card assuming that this money was readily available at my own disposal. Oh no. This card hadn't been verified by my Bursar so when I made the transaction, a hold was put on my account and I received a notification e-mail saying that I owed TCC $80,000. I COULD BUY A HOUSE FOR $80,000. This happened last night.

After class today, I marched into the Bursar's office and asked them to please remove the hold from my account. They happily did so, removing my $80,000 fine. Thank God. 

Apart from school frustrations and lack of sleep...today has been a good day. Tonight, my brother Alex will be playing drums for our youth band (where I play bass) so I'm pretty excited about that. Finally....a drummer that doesn't suck. :) 

Derek should be getting off work here pretty soon and I'm gonna text him to see if he can't skype for a bit before I have to leave for church. I love that boy... <3
